It seems after a few days of surgery all team members were falling into rhythm. Our surgery days 3 and 4 flew by! Everyone seemed to be functioning smoothly and finding their way through our surgical rooms and recovery. It’s difficult trying to fly everything in and still trying to be able to get used to Las Obras hospital equipment and surgical ways. We are fortunate enough to have a few team members locally from Faith In Practice as well as trusty hospital staff.
In our last morning’s devotional we focused on answering God’s call. We have all been called as a team to serve the people in Antigua. It’s a choice we all made unsure of the outcome ahead of us. We had to trust that God would guide us to make the right decisions and lead the way. We read scripture from Jeremiah and ended with Exodus 3:12- “And God said, I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you” There is no doubt that God has brought us all together. He has guided all of our hands and minds through each day. He has lead us to these people and humbled our minds. We are blessed to be apart of the journey.
Physical Therapy turned into a party on Wednesday. Lot’s of music, dancing and fun. We had some eager patients traveling upstairs and pushing themselves harder than some who have liked. One woman told us that a family member had promised her that if she heeled after surgery they would work to get her a trip to the U.S. She was motivated!
