It was a busy Tuesday for Morgan Team 601. Our surgical team completed 18 procedures, and the wheelchair team was able to distribute 26 wheelchairs. One special wheelchair patient in particular was José, a 72-year-old man who lost his right leg after an accident. With no money to purchase ambulatory aids, José spent countless hours building several models of a prosthetic leg. After four tries, José has created an impressive prosthetic that is fully functional. Our team was so impressed with his design because it both protected his leg from pressure ulcers and also allowed him to move relatively well with the help of a walker or crutches. We were able to give José a walker to replace the one he had donated to someone in need, and we also provided him with a wheelchair for going long distances.  We are grateful we had the opportunity to meet José, to get a firsthand look at his engineering genius, and to be a small part of furthering the efforts of Free Wheelchair Mission and Faith In Practice, as well as allowing God to bless the lives of the people of Guatemala through us.
