Mission Trip Mondays are typically a nightmare. We often start late because we can’t find what we need. People are typically out of sorts trying to work in an unfamiliar environment with people they don’t really know yet. At our pre-breakfast devotional, the team was encouraged to remember that Mondays often go awry. We talked about patience and flexibility. We encouraged one another to expect the unexpected and be ready for what comes.

How did it go, you ask? Like clockwork!! It was the best Monday many of us remembered over many trips. Equipment was found, patients did well, and the day was essentially smooth sailing. We did 6 major gynecological surgeries and 6 general surgeries. All recovered well, the team rejoiced and the day was celebrated.

In a country where women have multiple babies, there is the potential for many issues requiring gynecological and urological intervention. To have these issues resolved through the talents of our team can be life-changing. We are all grateful to be able to come to Guatemala and use the gifts we’ve been given to help others.
