A mother’s journey to find help for her son
Morning Devotional
I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God’s help but then I realize that our true help and protection is only from the Lord, our Creator who made the heavens and the earth.
Psalms 121: 1-2
Dr. Andy Selzman , our urologist, saw 13 year-old Anderson with his mother in our clinic on Sunday. He presented with an undescended testicle meaning that the testicle had not moved into the scrotum when he was born. This is not something you would see in the US in a 13-year-old. It is usually repaired before 2 years of age, since not repairing it greatly increases the risk of testicular cancer.
Dr. Selzman performed the surgery and pulled down the testicle and tacked it into the scrotum, so it would get a good blood supply. Now, he can develop properly and be fertile. It will also help prevent him from getting cancer in the future. His mother was overjoyed and thankful that her son was finally getting the care that he needed. She was reassured that he will be able to be a father one day.
Blessings,
