Day 1:
We arrived to Guatemala in different teams throughout the night, all well-rested and ready for our first day in Antigua. There was a lot of excitement from both the people who have been volunteering with Faith In Practice for years and those new members who listened to the call of their hearts and decided to be a part of this beautiful mission. On our way to Antigua, everyone was enjoying making new friends and getting to know each other. The team consists of a team coordinator and director, pharmacists, nurses, interpreters, doctors, educators, gynecologists, a radiologist, a photographer and blogger and many other volunteers to help run our clinic. As Sharon, our pharmacist says: “ It is a beautiful gift to be able to help people in this third world country,” we are all thankful that we were able to have a moment of pause in our own life, devoting our time and energy to serve those in need. “Volunteering is the most selfless and wonderful thing that you can do,” our team coordinator Tagni has spoken for all of us. It is going to be a productive and thrilling day tomorrow as we get to meet and treat our patients. Our team are all prepared for clinic day.
