Good Morning from Guatemala!
Yesterday our team assembled in Retalhuleu after a long day of travel. Starting with a flight to to Guatemala City, we then took a 4 hour bus rude to Reu traveling through the Guatemalan countryside. After one stop at a roadside restaurant for some sweet snacks, we arrived at our hotel, Irtra. We gathered for a team dinner to kick off the week and get to know one another and our roles. Our team is comprised of surgeons, anesthesiologists, physician assistants, nurses, physical therapists, dentists, dental assistants, interpreters, a pharmacist, and a wheel chair assembly team from all over the U.S.
We are all very excited to begin our service and meet the the incredible people here in Guatemala. Please follow along with this blog throughout the week!
