Thanks to each of you – nearly 700 of you! – who gathered in Houston’s Westin Galleria ballroom on Friday, October 21, to celebrate Faith In Practice and the calling that we have all received to join this life-changing medical mission.
We had the privilege of hearing our honorees, Dr. Phil and Linda Johnson, share the moving story of how they were first called to work in Guatemala 11 years ago. We heard how they continued to answer that call year after year. We saw how their faithfulness to answer the call transformed countless lives in Guatemala, including that of a young woman named Fatima who suffered from scoliosis.
Through the event you raised more than $640,000 to provide much needed care for the Guatemalan people who would otherwise not have access to medical care.
We are so grateful to all of you who made the event possible – those of you who volunteered, who attended the event, who bought tickets and tables, who shopped at the mercado, who donated prizes, who participated in Race for a Reason, and who showed your support for our mission in Guatemala. We are especially grateful to this year’s gala chairs, Drs. C. Enrique Batres and Susan Sponenberg and Dr. Jaime and Vilma Tschen, without whose tireless efforts the evening would not have been possible.
If you were unable to attend the event, you can still make a donation to this life-changing medical mission.
