2016 Women's Luncheon

Monday, April 4, 2016

Thanks to each of you--more than 440 of you!--who filled the ballroom at Hotel ZaZa today at the 9th Annual Women's Luncheon. We are grateful to Audrey Ahuero, MD; Barbara Ellzey, NP; and Debbie Luhnau, Med, for sharing their special stories, touching our hearts, sometimes even bringing us to tears. Event Chairs Mopsy Andrews, Courtney Teel Mitchell, Kelli Jane Peacock, and Leslie Prokop Teel worked tirelessly to make this year’s luncheon truly extraordinary. And it would not have been possible without their faithful support. Once again, our very own Lucy Parker outdid herself with the beautiful setup of Mercado as the Mercado Chair. Our event donors, Hotel Zaza, Tootsies, and Dr. Sean Boutros were very kind in providing the fabulous raffle prizes. And last but not least, we want to thank our special Guatemalan guest, Andy Gallardo, who shared his story of how Faith In Practice volunteers changed his life as a patient and how he hopes to become a volunteer himself.

This year's women's luncheon was truly amazing. The words of Andy and our speakers touched everyone--even the hotel staff, who were in the ballroom during the program, waited patiently until the end of the event so they could line up to buy the wooden centerpieces which benefited the patients.  This is truly life changing medical mission.

If you were unable to attend the Women's Luncheon, you can still make a donation to the event.
