Day 4 of the Faith in Practice mission trip has come and gone, as our team continues to do incredible work at the hospital serving the Guatemalan public. After yet another vitalizing breakfast of exotic fruits and an equally invigorating morning devotional, the team served many Guatemalan women today who required a variety of gynecological procedures, including many hysterectomies. First time team member Dani Laurenzo was interviewed today about the work day today who spoke about the many women she saw today in the operating room. She reiterated time and time again how inspired she was speaking with and operating on the patients, all of whom were abundantly grateful for all the amazing and charitable work the team has been doing. Dani mentioned that she knew that there were going to be far less resources than she was used to back in the United States, and was still surprised at the very severe lack of resources that the hospitals actually had. The sterilization process and protocol is far different than in the U.S. and lack of resources can often lead to less than advisable medical practices in some hospitals. That’s why people like Dani are so inspired to go help improve the conditions of the hospitals in Guatemala, to hopefully make a better future in health for the entire population. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of the week.

Sincerely,
Grant Farrow
