This morning Dr. Freddie opened our devotional with the beatitudes, Matthew 5:3-13. After the reading Dennis talked about today‘s theme of gratitude and we all received the chance to discuss what we were grateful for. Many said that they were thankful for the experience they have received while being involved with Faith in Practice and others talked about their love for their families and the people here with them. For me I’ve been so blessed to have the opportunity to go on this mission. My mom has been going on this trip for 16 years and is on her 24th trip, so it has really been amazing to get to see first hand what these talented people do. I’m so happy I get to share this experience with everyone and I hope that I’m lucky enough to continue to attend these trips.

Today we operated on so many patients full of gratitude and happiness and the ones that stood out to me the most were César, Elder, and Iris. César and Elder woke up with big smiles on their faces and picture ready, and as for Iris she was beyond excited to come in and get her surgery today. All of them are grateful for Faith in Practice and the promise of healing that they bring to this country.  They tell us with their voices, but you can see it in their eyes and their faces. We give all the glory to God.  I think I speak for the team when I say we are all grateful to have the opportunity to be here to serve them.
