“Give from your abundance to feed their poverty and you get from their abundance to feed our hearts.”
Ismael, an 83 year-old traditional Guatemalan man dressed smartly in his straw hat, was the last patient of the day for Elana Shapiro, one of our team audiologists. He has had severe hearing loss for at least the last 15 years and struggled with not being able to understand those around him. Faith in Practice provided Ismael with his first opportunity to use hearing aids to improve this situation. When he was fitted with his new hearing aids, he found himself able to hear again. Despite the barriers imposed on our human touch by COVID protocols, he reached out to pat Elana’s hand to show his appreciation for his new ability to hear. It is never too late to make a difference in someone’s life.
