Team 709 has arrived. It was a long day getting here (for some of us)! We are tired, but there is an energy swirling, that can’t be denied. After months of uncertainty about when we could serve again, we are here. Our smaller team of nine is very intentional for safety reasons. That is always the top priority of FIP, and why I feel safe traveling with them. We are joined by our local Faith In Practice leaders Philipe and Tagni. Tomorrow our Guatemalan volunteers will join as well. After we met at the airport, and rode the bus to Antigua, we arrived at the hotel and gathered for a much needed snack time. Our mission coordinator, Dr. Joe Austin called a team meeting to go over some logistical details and information. We shared our first meal together and enjoyed yummy food and getting to know each other. We look forward to an early day tomorrow, traveling to Totonicapán. We will set up clinic space to welcome our Guatemalan brothers and sisters on Monday!
