A Sacred Mission, A Personal Calling
Dr. Oluwagbenga (Ben) Adesope, CEO
Hello Faith in Practice Family,
It is with deep gratitude and a profound sense of purpose that I write to you in this new edition of our revised Faith In Practice Newsletter, Echos of Faith. As someone still early in my journey with this remarkable organization, now just over four months as CEO, I want to begin by simply saying: thank you!
Thank you for building this sacred organization!
For 31 years, Faith in Practice has answered God’s call to serve the most vulnerable in Guatemala, offering healing, hope, and dignity through life-changing medical care. And while our numbers speak volumes – 25,000 patients served annually, over 2,500 surgeries provided, thousands of volunteers mobilized – the true story lies in the moments:
A child taking her first steps after surgery. A mother’s hope being restored. A family receiving care wrapped in prayer and compassion.
I come into this role with a background in healthcare leadership and a calling rooted deeply in my faith. What drew me here wasn’t just the scope of the impact, but the heart of this organization: that every action, every surgery, every step we take is an act of faith in practice, a reflection of Christ’s love for the forgotten and underserved.
We are not just serving patients; we are bearing witness to the Gospel in action.
In the months ahead, we will continue to deepen our partnerships, strengthen our infrastructure, and grow our capacity to serve. But we will do so grounded in the same truth that has guided this mission from the beginning, that God goes before us! That the healing we provide is holy. And that together, we are part of something eternal.
To our volunteers, donors, Guatemalan partners, staff, and Board: thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for believing that healing is not just a physical act, but a spiritual one. I invite you to walk with me, pray with me, and continue building this mission, together!
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus…”
