Today was an eventful day of surgeries. Everyone was busy tending to the patients, while us teens were busy staying out of the way. Dr. Trainer saw a case that neither him nor one of the nurses Kat had seen in either of their careers. It took a lot of patience and perseverance, but in the end it was another success for Dr. Trainer. Dr. Crotzer and Dr. Kean removed a humongous uterus. It made the average ones look minuscule in size.
If you went into the cafeteria at the right time, you would find cookies and candies for the team! Those sweet treats put everyone in a good mood.
Surgeries resumed after lunch creating a busy afternoon. For me, that ment watching Dr. Kean work her magic in the operating room, although it seemed that everyone had a surgery to attend too. Since there were so many surgeries going on, us teens had a plethora of surgeries to choose from to watch.
So far this trip has taught me and the other teens a lot! Watching the professionals tackle surgical challenges is definitely inspiring.
